Your download of AutoKeyClicker has started. Your browser shows it at the top right (or along the bottom). Keep this page open and follow the steps below as each window comes up. Didn't start? Try again.
AutoKeyClicker for Windows
Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. Setting it up takes about a minute. Windows shows a few warnings along the way. This page shows what each one says and what to click.
1. Downloading
The file is AutoKeyClicker-Pro-Setup.exe
(or AutoKeyClicker-Free-Setup.exe), under 3 MB.
Your browser may say the file isn't commonly downloaded. It says that about any new program it hasn't seen many people download yet. Choose Keep. In Edge, the option is under the … menu next to the download. If it asks again, choose Keep anyway.
Only download AutoKeyClicker from autokeyclicker.app. Other sites repackage the free version, sometimes with adware added.
2. Installing
- Open the downloaded file. It's in your browser's download list or your Downloads folder.
- “Windows protected your PC” may appear in a blue box. Click More info, then Run anyway. AutoKeyClicker isn't code-signed (a signing certificate costs more each year than the software does), so Windows doesn't recognize it yet. Nothing is wrong with the file.
- “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?” Click Yes. The installer needs this to install into Program Files.
- Click through the installer. You can choose to add a desktop shortcut. Leave Launch AutoKeyClicker Pro ticked on the last page and click Finish.
The installer adds AutoKeyClicker to your Start menu.
3. Opening it
Every time AutoKeyClicker starts, Windows asks whether to let it make changes. Click Yes. Many games run with administrator rights and ignore clicks and keys from programs that don't have them, so AutoKeyClicker always asks for them. If you click No, it closes.
That's it. Free needs no account and no key. Set an interval, pick a hotkey and press it. The docs cover everything else.
The first time Pro starts, it asks for your key. See below.
Antivirus flagged it? AutoKeyClicker watches the keyboard and mouse and sends input to other programs. That is its job, and it also looks suspicious to some scanners, so false positives happen. If yours quarantines it, email support@autokeyclicker.app with your antivirus's name and what it said.
4. Your Pro key
Your key arrives by email right after you buy. If it isn't in your inbox, check spam. Paste the key into the box when Pro first starts. After that, Pro remembers it and works offline too.
A key works on one computer at a time. Moving it to a new one is covered in License & activation. Free and Pro share your profiles and settings, so trying Free first and then installing Pro loses nothing.
Updates
AutoKeyClicker checks for a new version when it starts and asks before installing it. The update installs and reopens the app. Your profiles, macros and settings stay. What changed is in the changelog.
Uninstalling
Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps, find AutoKeyClicker and choose Uninstall. It asks whether to also delete your profiles, macros, themes and key. Choose No if you plan to reinstall.
Checking the download
This is optional. In PowerShell, run
Get-FileHash $HOME\Downloads\AutoKeyClicker-Pro-Setup.exe
and compare the result with the checksum under Verify your download.
Something not working? Email support@autokeyclicker.app or open a ticket on the Discord, and say which Windows version you're on.
